Red hair

This little one got her hair today 🙂

She is a 12″ dollie.

Tomorrow the other ones will get their hair and maybe the clothes too…

And another beauty with red/ dark brown hair.
She is a tall one with her 18″.

Looking forward to picking up my goodies from the Belle Bazaar Boutique tomorrow too.

Hope you are having a splendid day!

Work in progress

Many new little friends will be born soon.
15″, 18″ and 12″ dolls.
I finally got the super soft and lovely fabric from Germany for the skin and fluffy sheep wool from New South Wales.

I also went shopping for lots and lots of woolen yarn for the hair.
One more little dollies to stuff and then they all get their hair and eyes and will be ready to get dressed for their first photo session 🙂
Oh, how I love this process.

Hope you are having a fabulous time!

A new bed for the dollies

When I woke up I found my lil one like this.
Her three little “sisters” as she calls them and her sound asleep 🙂

I brought a doll bed home from Ikea and Miss A. was determined to assemble it herself.

She did a really great job, I only helped with the screws.

And now her 3 little friends can cuddle up in the new bed.

Doll Heads, Books and Trips

Today we went to the library and Miss A. insisted that her dolls would come too.
2 trips carrying bags, beds and baby doll carriers to the car and we were good to go 🙂

Here is my new “doll bible”, the book by Maricristin Sealey explains beautifully how to make a Waldorf doll.
Includes patterns for 10″, 12″ and 15″ dolls, blanket babies, clothes etc.

I am still in the process of making new dolls, no finished friends to show yet.
This is how the inner head for the dolls look like 🙂

My crazy crafty corner in the lounge room. All good to go for the night with mini DVD player and headphones.

Hopefully more pics in the following days with some newborn doll friends…

Til then

My daughter’s sewing adventures – Doll blankets

Yesterday, my daughter wanted to have some cuddly pillows and doonas for her dolls Aniana and Annika.
So I told her to measure the dolls and draw a pattern for the fabric.
She did all this by herself. I helped her to cut out the fabrics and then she sewed it all up at the sewing machine. She stuffed it and finally she closed the opening with a blanket stitch.
Can’t tell you how proud I am of my lil bubba 🙂 (she is 7 now and as tall as a 9 year old ).
And she was so happy and proud herself.
She said: “Mum, maybe I can help you with your sewing, I am really good at sewing straight seams now”.
We’ll see… 🙂

Belle Bazaar Market December 2011

On the 4th of December we went to the Belle Bazaar Markets with our little stall.

The dolls came with for the first time.

A lot of people looked at them, took them in their arms and dropped them a bit terrified when they looked at the prices.

The how and why of the costs are explained in the FAQ section.

Any “hardcore waldorf doll admirer” will know that my dolls are in the lower price range of dolls available out there.

I chatted to some lovely people, sold a few things and Miss A. had a great time playing with the market stall holder and visitor kids, getting her face painted, eating poffertjes and feeding the farm animals.

The bassinette hadd to come as well!

I also took my www.samu.com.au goodies with me.

Turtles, horses, dolphins and elephants.
