Once there was a little girl who danced her way around the world smiling and trusting everyone she met wholeheartedly. She was loved and cared for by her parents and knew she was fine at all times. She could not understand separation and concepts of “different, strange, foreign etc.” When the family went on holidays and they drove across the borders of countries she had no idea what they were talking about. “How is it that this is Germany and that is Austria? The trees look all the same”. She was brought up to consider every being equal and look upon everyone with compassion and love. She trusted this teaching and felt safe in this world.
Her biggest wish was to learn every single language on this planet so that she could become friends with everyone. She got started on quite a few languages but learned soon, that a smile, a hug and a heart to heart connection does not require words.
She grew up and learned about differences, conditioning, opinions and world views but still, in her heart, she sees the unity in all the diversity. the one heart beat that keeps all creation alive, the one life that is all there is.

These dolls to me express this deep trust and connection, the beauty of diversity and difference which is only on the surface, really. The things that are similar in each and every one and unite are much more than the differences.
I had these dollies in my imagination for quite a while and i am so happy to see them here now.
I am overwhelmed with joy ♥

These dollies will be in the shop at 9 am Brisbane time on the 10th of January 2013
At the moment I am working on these 12 sweet dollies.
It is a project that I had in my mind for quite a while and it is so beautiful to see them all coming to life.
They will turn around once they are dressed 🙂
On a different note, in our Aussie Waldorf doll group, we are having a photo challenge, taking one picture a day for the whole month of January, with a different topic every day.
I posted a set on my flickr page.
This week is turtle week 🙂
I used to make turtles for my market stalls from the Melly and Me pattern and now I modified it so I can use stretchy doll skin fabric and have them stand a little differently.
I love how they turned out!
2 are still in the shop 🙂
I also wanted to make dollies, I just can’t help myself even with sales being slow at the moment.
It was a big week this last week!
First I finished these 2 dolls for my mum in Germany.
She loves dolls and used to make me some when I was little and I am so happy to be making some sweeties for her as well. She requested a blonde one and I made her a tiny one that looks like her granddaughter as well 🙂
Next I finished this spunky little lady. She is for a doll swap in our Australian Waldorf Doll group and she will be a surprise secret Santa gift .
And these 2 sweeties are on their way to the US to meet their new mummy. The little red head is the “reincarnation” of a dolly that was “beautified” with sharpie by a 2 year old and had to be redone. I used the same hair again so at least part of Miss Maureen are living on on this sweet one.
I have a weakness for the dark tan doll skin fabric so my shop doll for the week is this little one. She is patiently waiting to be picked up by her new mummy or daddy.
It was time for some hammocks again, you can find them in the shop now.
This little lady is on her way to her new home as well. She was part of a trade.
And last but not least, we have this funny bunch of dollies that are currently driving in a car across Australia with a young couple looking for adventure.
I had surprise visitors form Germany stay with us for the last 4 days. They were very keen on making their own dolls so we had an impromptu doll making workshop. the boy on the left and the second girl from the right were made by our friends and the other two are Sami dolls.
There will be turtles and Sami minis coming to the shop on Monday so please check back in tomorrow xx
